Uninstall McAfee - Safe Mode with Networking

Starting the McAfee McShield service crashes explorer.exe, freezing the computer.

Follow the instructions:

Step 1 
 Please select an option:
    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt
    Enable Boot Logging
    Enable VGA Mode
    Last Known Good Configuration
    Debugging Mode
    Disable automatic restart on system failure
    Start Windows Normally
    Reboot
Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.

Start your computer in Safe-Mode:

  • Start up the computer and immediately press F8 on your keyboard.

  • Choose the safe mode option

Step 2
  • In the start  menu choose Run, type msconfig and press OK

Step 3
Click the Services tab and uncheck the following items:
  • Mcafee Framework Services
  • Network Associates McAhield
  • Network Associates Task Manager

Click OK


Step 4
  • Restart the computer
  • Download VSE Patch 11 . Unzip it and double click setup.exe
  • Load again msconfig (same as step 2.
  • Click the tab: General.
  • Mark: Normal Startup..
  • Click OK .
  • Restart the computer.
